The Engineering Team is tasked with contemplating the internal body of an intelligent machine including the use of the NeurBot Controller which functions as the digital brain of the machine. It is extremely important to set expectations correctly here, as the students do have a limited amount of time.

The students are introduced to aspects of the NeurBot controller, how it functions, why it functions the way it does, and how how to operate it. Next, the team explores the issues of the body versus the mind. They are reminded that a newborn has eyes, arms, and legs, yet does not fully develop their use for some time. In this manner, the machine may be configured with devices, sensors, and motors that may be more functional at a later time.

The Engineering Team will discuss and identify a problem statement related to the design of the machine. They will research hypothetical solutions, and create a design. They will secure their parts, and test their machine.

Knowing that the intent is for the machine to evolve over time, the Engineering Team can contemplate the basic design and allow for modular add-ons at a later point in time.
